Lang Masonry conducts competition Lang Masonry Contractors Inc., a masonry contracting business at Waterford, recently held a competition among its masons to see who was the fastest of the fast in a trowel competition. Winners of the competition received cash awards as well as bragging rights among their peers. The local competition highlighted the skills, craftsmanship and speeds of the masons. The winners of the local competition received $1,000 for first place, $500 for second, and $300 for third place. Each competitor’s goal was to complete as much of an 18-foot-long block wall as possible within 20 minutes. This year, there were two newcomers to the competition and three returning competitors. James Radabaugh and Henry Antill competed for the first time and gave the returning veterans, Bill Boswell, Tony Ross, and James Hoskinson, a run for their money. The five men were allowed a labor team of two men each to help mix mortar and provide materials when needed.
