Motor Madness returns Saturday
The street rods and muscle cars on display at Washington State Community College’s sixth annual Motor Madness Saturday won’t just be there for viewing — many of them will be put to the test. The event, from 1 to 4 p.m., will once again feature dyno runs, a Motor Madness favorite. “They put the cars on what looks like a wheel and it tells you how high performance your car is, how fast it can go, how many RPMs” said Brenda Kornmiller, dean of business, engineering and industrial technologies at Washington State. “We’ve done that every year and people always enjoy it.” What’s different about the event this year is that there is no longer registration required. Instead there will be a cruise-in format, with all cars welcome. There will also be dealer displays, vendors, music and food, all at no cost. The event is being sponsored by the Washington-Morgan-Meigs Tech Prep Consortium, the WSCC Automotive/Diesel program and Bumper to Bumper Marietta Ignition.
