Waterford FFA banquet held

May 10, 2008

The Waterford FFA Chapter hosted and celebrated its annual parent-member banquet April 17, with local farmers, honorary and alumni members. The Waterford athletic boosters prepared the meal and Frances Tornes made the dessert. Entertainment for the night was a slide show presentation to celebrate the chapter’s accomplishments and activities. State FFA President Dustin Homan was the guest speaker.

The chapter awarded 36 Greenhand degrees and nine chapter degrees. The Star Greenhand award was presented to Laura Whalin, James Giffin and Brady Campbell. The outstanding second year award was presented to Aaron Brooker. The outstanding third year award was presented to Sabrinna McAtee and Josh Donahue. The Star Chapter Farmer award was presented to Justin Stiers. Alysia Sands was recognized for receiving her State FFA Degree. The Ed Barnett Award was presented to Niasca McGee. The Waterford Grange 231 Agricultural Education Grant was awarded to Justin Stiers and Christina Harra.
