... Did I forget to mention the money-hungry war-profiteers like the "honorable" Congressman Johnson who run Pentagon-related racketeering schemes that make the proverbial "$600 toilet-seat" scam seem like a good deal? Meanwhile, returning vets and their families have to go begging for assistance and health-care ... Again, stop whining!

down the government to please their fat-cat donors who blew millions to defeat Obama ... Those affected by Hurrican Sandy are getting screwed because "Boner" can't control his tears OR his gang of troglodytes in the House ... Americans need to wise up and toss out all the rightwing anarchists in 2014!

@Greek - Sounds like you're the one with the Kool-Aid hangover. Unless you make over $400,000. your taxes won't go up (the Clinton-era 39% rate kicks in on $$$ made beyond the first $400K) ... The "fiscal cliff" deal makes the Bush tax cuts for the under $400K folks permanent + unemployment for those who need it is extended. I know that folks like you and the Mittster regard those affected by downsizing, outsourcing, or automation as "lazy leeches", but, if you want to see some REAL "leeches", check out those greedy b******s who receive huge subsidies, block-grant $$$, and other perks while making huge profits and trashing the Alaskan shoreline ... Stop whining! You'll survive, but there are many who won't once the wingnuts figure out a way to shut d

Its time to muzzle fools like bill johnson, and allow president obama to do what he knows is necessary to get this country running smooth again like it did in the clinton years

Bet'cha Bill won't cut funding for defense-contractors like "J-2 Solutions" that peddles InfoTech hardware to the Pentagon! I forget who owned that outfit anyway? Oh, I remember! It was Bill! ... And how many of today's "insightful commentors" make over $400K a year? ... Go see "Lincoln". Making laws is like making sausage!

Looks like obamas cloward/piven strategy of "collapsing the system" is going real well.

This congress has already proven itself to be ineffective and childish. And we still have the sure to be debacle to go through in a few months. I'm writing my rep's telling them, that after this past budget deal and impending pay raises, none of them will be getting a vote from me again!

We need $3 in cuts for every $4 in taxes. We got $1 in cuts for every $41 in taxes.

I personally think Congress should only make what the national average for wages is. The only way they get a raise is if the average goes up. If it goes down, well, pay cut time.

Grover said "in effect, raisng payroll taxes does not go against tax pledge."
Why do so many listen to a blue furry creature with somebodies hand up his wazoo?
Petition needing to be started nationwide, Congress shall enact no pay raise, nor any federal employee of any type til spending of grandchildrens inheritence of the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness STOPS!!!!

Actually, the H.R.6726 "a bipartisan bill" was received in the Senate (01/02/2013) and Read twice and referred to the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
Therefore, the Executive Order 13635 still stands.
Pay those taxes . . . Congress and Biden NEED those pay raises.

Actually the right in the house passed a bipartisian bill that overroad the executive order. Obama telling us we all need to pay more, while giving raises to Congress and Biden. It is shameful. I wonder how many people will notice that their paycheck is a little lighter thanks to the payroll tax increase?

Happy or not . . .
Congress will be getting pay raises this year!
Since Obama signed Executive Order 13635 granting pay increases to Congress and other federal officials.

Could we have a list of the spending cuts Bill Johnson wants for our district or does he just want everyone else in congress to cut their spending?
