I have attended two of these events (odd for a person of my young age, I know). One was in Beverly many years ago, while I was still a high school student at Waterford High. It was quite enjoyable.
The other was at the New Matamoras VFW spoken of in the article. It was a king granddaddy of a good time. I quite enjoyed the food. It was delicious. The people really make the event, though.
If I was not currently many hundreds of miles away I would go again this year. It is quite a good time.

Wonder if Ralph Dunn supplied the fish. He was one of the Ohio Valley's famous tournament fishermen back in the day. When he started his boat motor, fish would come to the surface and surrender.
