I didn't realize school employees made enough money to take 2 or 3 cruises a year. I need to change jobs.

I agree that you get what you pay for. Carnival has been a good line to use for little bucks; but they need to pick up the pace to become more "ship-shape".

gonefromMOV, 5 star restaurants???? What cruise lines were you on? Not Carnival or Royal Caribbean! Food was OK, but 3 star tops!
Wittynickname, yeah those cheapie cruises usually have ALOT of "sea" time and little "land" time on them. That way you spend your money on the boat;)

If I wanted to go on a cruise, this would not stop me. As a matter of fact, a cruise is on my bucket list.

I've been on three cruises and they are fabulous vacations! Five star restaurants! access to native rums in the Caribbean, Cuban cigars in the Bahamas, fabulous casinos.
Saying you won't go on a cruise because of an anomaly like this is like saying you won't drive because your brakes might fail.

What happened on this or other cruises recently is horrible. Then I think of our military personel living in rough condidtions (been there, done that), I consider these people lucky, their discomfort is short term. Would I go on a cruise, I sure would, more cruise's are successful and than miserable like this. These people are lucky that there were no casualities, just some discomfort.

Been on 9 cruises (including Alaska, Hawaii, eastern and western Caribbean) and have enjoyed every one. This was an aberration. However, it's always good to remember that you get what you pay for. An ad for a week-long cruise for $350, that sounds too good to be true, probably is.

I've been on 3 and they're ok, personally I get sick of the boat after a few days and prefer to spend more time in local cultures, so I don't go anymore.
That being said, the way these companies set up these boats to avoid any safety or regulations is catching up with carnival. Broken ships, disease outbreaks etc.

Refuse to go on a cruise....must be some other excuse.
Cruises are great.
I guess you refuse to fly or refuse to leave the house for that matter.
One never knows.
Take a chance....****e on!!!
