145,000 in uncashed checks over 5 years. Why would there be that much money uncashed unless they were bogus checks to begin with.

I hope Marietta City Schools makes known to the public their plan of correction to stop this from happening in the future. I still have to wonder how the assistant kept it from the treasurer, for 5 years much less. What was he doing the whole time, letting her do ALL the work?

So no jail time for stealing $145,000? Just pay us back and it is ok? WOW!

On top of paying restitution, Mincks will have to spend 120 days in the Washington County Jail and she will be subject to three years community control, he said.

Must have been some wedding. Now her daughter knows it was an entire farce. Did she REALLY think she could get away with this? Criminals are stupid people.

Seems to me a few years ago there were some county employees in separate instances who received a lot more time for a lot less money....where's the justice??

In these kind of cases, it would seem that paying back the money is the biggest punishment. I am always surprised at these cases. Whatever gives them the idea that they are smarter than everyone else and they can get away with it?

Three questions, where did the daughter go to school Harvard, or Yale? Where was the wedding? A destination wedding in Europe? It seems odd/ school tuition and a wedding and the money is all gone? And what took so long for the school system to notice any inconsistencies? What was wrong? No one noticed anything in ms Mincks spending on her salary? did she gamble the rest,? now she has no retirement, and is lucky she did not get more jail time.A very sad story , predictable ending/ in the end embezzlers don't get away , they get caught.

She made $37,000.00 and she had worked for the district for 28 years. Doesn't seem like much. Although enough to live on if she could have told her daughter no. Unfortunate.

ex of devola-she probably bought her daughter boobs so her wedding dress would fit her better. Minks, hum any relation to um lets see the crooked sherriff?!? I hope when i decide to steal from a public office they'll just let me pay it back. Maybe the welcome wagon headed by Thrope the Terrible will give hwer a few razors and hopes she falls on them. Crooked as the day is long. Why is the justice(unjustice) system so unfair. I wish i could have gotten a job in the court house, school, jail. You can get away with anything. Hey Minky where is the tramadol??????

Some facts: What she did is 100% WRONG!!! She absolutely should be punished! She DID NOT purchase her daughter breast implants! She DID NOT have a "lavish" wedding! She DID NOT go to an Ivy League College. She is NOT related to Sheriff Mincks! I know this because I know Barb! I was at the wedding which was held in town not some far away destination! I will say this again, Barb is wrong! But the facts are just that...FACTS!

Forget about the theft... let's see the names of folks who don't cash checks worth $145K and I'll do business with them!

My points were that she helped her to an awful of money. If daughter did not have expensive wedding or attend an expensive school, then where is the rest? if she were a gambler and was spending large sums of money, then surely someone ( like a friend or family )must have noticed) How did she get away with the embezzlement for such a long time?
