DNR does it again. Remember a few years ago a lady called because a deer had been hit and killed and it fawn was wondering around. What did they do? Kill the fawn, do they not know there are animal recuse places that take orphaned animals in? It is odd this is the first time a black bear has wondered into this area. Other cities have found ways to take the bear and transport it to another area why can't DNR and the police here? They just wanted the thrill to shot a bear.

I can't fault the police for doing what they did to protect the public, as much as I would like to.

I do fault the idiot residents for causing the death of the black bear. Were they not ordered to go inside so as not to be harmed? Were they not ordered to go inside so they wouldn't impede the capture of the animal? They disobeyed a direct order by the police and nothing happened to them. Each of them should be cited, fined, and made to complete community service hours benefiting area wildlife. Disobeying a police order is illegal is it not?

The guilty party here is the stupid people who caused the death of the bear.
