Another kind of fracking done by a company from Texas has been blamed for a sinkhole in Louisiana that is growing bigger all the time. It has swallowed trees over a hundred feet tall. Fracking is a mistake. Not enough studies have been done to be able to say that it won't impact us far, far down the road.

Don't forget to take Pictures of your basement walls before they do the seismic mapping of Marietta on July 1-3. You need to have proof that they cracked or destroyed your walls in order to sue. Also I'm talking to a Lawyer in town about a class action lawsuit if they try and drill inside city limits.

If these oil and gas companies do anything they probably improve the environment. Plus they provide the MOV residents with employment opportunities which the MOV is in desperate need of!!!!

Does not quite have the same ring as Julie Andrews on the mountain top bellowing......

Who really is keeping on eye on these companies?

If anyone has an extra bankroll, can you please send me some?

Why quote Betsy Cook without any comment from PDC.

Why is the reporter so negative with his comments? Is this article from the Marietta Times or the New York Times? The fracking process has NOT even begun, but we have to intimidate the masses with false headlines? I cant wait to have a sunroom just like Debbie.

Keeping an eye on the operations: it is not like they are doing it in a back room.

Kind of hard to hide a drilling site after they did road improvements to get to it. LOL

Exactly my point. So why mention it in the article if the special interest group is neither qualified nor trained to do what the article says they are doing?

There are plenty of gov't oversight agencies watching the operator. The SE Ohio Fracking interest group are environmental activists. Technical knowledge or facts are not necessary for them to receive press or perceived authority.

By the spelling of the news article headline, we can all see what side the Marietta Times is taking.

I concur--it's great for our area and refreshing to hear the positive comments from the residents. Wondering how exactly the Southeastern Ohio Fracking Interest Group "keeps an eye on the operation" and performs monitoring on health and safety? Where is their data? What technical qualifications and training do they have to legitimately comment on this event?
