Bantam baseball registration Friday

The Marietta Bantam Baseball League will hold registration for the 2008 baseball season Friday. Registration will be held at the equipment building on Linwood Avenue from 5 to 7 p.m. Players must be 5 by April 30.

Registration forms are available at the schools, Zide’s Sport Shop and the Marietta Recreation Department.

Warren booster meeting Wednesday

The Warren Athletic Boosters will have their monthly meeting Wednesday in the weight room at 7 p.m. at Warren High School.

tourney to be held

The 15th annual Marietta High School Alumni Basketball Tournament is scheduled for April 4 to 6. The tournament will be played at multiple locations, including Marietta High School and Marietta Middle School, and will feature round robin play in multiple divisions, including the Orange, Black, White and Lady Tiger divisions. April 6 will feature a single elimination format of top teams in a championship round in all divisions. Additionally Sunday will feature the eighth annual battle between the coaches/faculty of MHS and the current Tiger class. Entry forms are available at Schob Team Sports and Creighton Sports Center and on-line at www.marietta-ohio.com. The entry fee of $120 and team rosters are due by March 21.

Lower Salem to host hoops tourney

Lower Salem will host a youth basketball tournament for fourth, fifth and sixth grade boys Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Entry fee is $75.

Frontier alumni tourney to be held

The Frontier High School alumni basketball tournament will be held March 28, 29 and 30. There will be one women’s division and two men’s divisions (1969-1987 and 1988-2007). Entry fee is $75 per team.

Marietta softball leagues are looking for umpires for the upcoming season.

Golf league

Worthington golf course in Parkersburg will be hosting the 2008 Belpre Shrine Golf League.

The league is open to all with prizes every week and the first place two-man team will receive $1,000 based on 24 or more teams. Teams consist of two men, one of which must be at least a first degree Mason.

The league will begin April 15, and play every Tuesday evening for about 24 weeks.

Oldtimers softball league is forming

The Marietta Oldtimers Softball League is accepting registrations for the 2008 season. Any male 35 years of age on or before Dec. 31 is eligible to participate.Send the $45 registration fee which includes team T-shirt to Marietta Oldtimers Softball, P.O. Box 4044, Marietta, Ohio 45750.

Include name, address and phone number. Deadline is April 26.
