50th: Billy,

Gatha Davis

Billy and Gatha Davis celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 9.

Gatha C. Crabtree and Billy H. Davis were married on Aug. 9, 1958, in Litchfield, Ohio. They have resided in several cities and towns, including Medina, Ohio, Parsons, W.Va., Belpre and, for the last 30-plus years, the Cutler/Bartlett area.

The couple have one daughter, Michelle J. Pierson, currently of Cutler, and her husband, Mark R. Pierson; and two granddaughters, Samantha L. Pierson and Olivia M. Pierson.

Davis has been employed for 25-plus years with Warren Local Schools and 10-plus years with Huck's Pallets. Mrs. Davis was employed with Warren Local Schools for several years.

61st: Victor,

Mary McCracken

Victor and Mary McCracken of 629 Eighth St., Marietta, will celebrate their 61st wedding anniversary on Aug. 22.

They were married Aug. 22, 1947, at the home of Minister Homer Utley, who was minister of the Sixth and Washington Streets Church of Christ in Marietta. McCracken is the son of the late Harry and Cora McCracken. Mrs. McCracken is the daughter of the late Henry and Hazel Lantz.

McCracken retired as a police officer for the Marietta Police Department and Mrs. McCracken retired as a meat hostess for Big Bear store in Marietta. They are members of the Sixth and Washington Streets Church of Christ.

Their children are: Bill McCracken of Reno; and Carol (John) Everson, Marty (Ralph) Shuttleworth, Donna (Rick) Beaver and Tish (John) Foster of Marietta. One daughter-in-law, Lana McCracken, is deceased.

Their grandchildren are: Mike (Tracy) McCracken; Steve (Jennifer) Rankin; Stacy (John) Shearon; Christopher (Amber) Lauer; and Ricki Beaver. One granddaughter, Crystal McCracken Hyson, is deceased.

Their great-grandchildren are: Justin and Britnay Hyson of San Antonio, Texas; Kailee and Logan McCracken, Matthew and Leslie Rankin, Tyler Jackson and Hailey Shearon, all of Marietta.

40th: Larry, Jane

Handschumacher

BEVERLY - Larry and Jane Handschumacher of Beverly will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday.

They were married Aug. 17, 1968, at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Lowell by Father Richard Battocletti. Mrs. Handschumacher is the daughter of Ruth Strahler of Lowell and the late Dale Strahler. Handschumacher is the son of Mildred Handschumacher of Warner and the late Harry Handschumacher.

Handschumacher is self-employed and Mrs. Handschumacher is a retired teacher.

The couple have three children: Stacy (Mike) Archer of Barlow; Lisa (Aaron) Hibbard of Columbus; and Dustin Handschumacher of Huntington, W.Va.

They also have one granddaughter, Hannah Archer.

50th: Kenneth,

Sandra Stack

MACKSBURG - Kenneth and Sandra Stack of Macksburg will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 17, at an open house hosted by their children.

Mr. and Mrs. Stack were married on Aug. 18, 1958, in Lower Salem by the Rev. James McConnell. Stack is the son of the late Shelby and Pauline Swain Stack and Mrs. Stack is the daughter of the late Paul and Pearl Jean Griffin Baker.

They are the parents of four children: Paul Eugene (Debbie) Stack of Warner; Carl S. Stack, and Melissa (Neil) Polk of Caldwell; and Kurt (Stephanie) Stack of Dexter City.

They also have three grandchildren, the late Carl Steven Stack, and Blake and Mackenzie Polk; and two stepgrandchildren, Kyle and Christopher Fink.

Stack is a self-employed timber cutter. He contracted for Haessly Hardwood Lumber Co. for more than 31 years. He also worked for B&N Coal for many years and built silos as a young man. Mrs. Stack is a homemaker.

The open house will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at the Lower Salem Community Center in Lower Salem. All friends and family are invited to attend and to enjoy dinner with the family.
