Lehman-Lessard
Susanne Renee Lehman and Jonathan Martin Lessard were united in marriage on April 18, 2009, at Carlisle Brethren in Christ Church in Carlisle. The Rev. Bryan Hoke officiated for the formal, double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Steve and Shirley Lehman of Carlisle.
The bridegroom is the son of Ann Lessard of Marietta.
Maid of honor was Karen Campbell. Bridesmaids were Mary Lehman and Alayna Mock. Flower girl was Anna Lehman.
Best man was J. David Muetzel. Groomsmen were James Lessard and Jed Lessard.
Guest book attendants were Ronda Lehman and Natasha Moyer.
A reception followed at Carlisle Comfort Suites.
The bride is a 1996 graduate of Carlisle High School and a 2000 graduate of Houghton College. She is a third-grade teacher in the Carlisle Area School District.
The bridegroom is a 1995 graduate of Marietta Christian School and a 1999 graduate of the West Virginia Institute of Technology. He is a civil engineer at URS Corp.
A honeymoon trip to New England in July was planned.
Marty-Pfeifer
Douglas Alan Pfeifer and Janie Ellen Marty were married on Feb. 28, 2009, at the Blennerhassett Hotel in Parkersburg with Pastor Ed Sprout officiating for the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Bill and Lynn Marty of Vienna, W.Va.
The bridegroom is the son of Walter and Janet Pfeifer of Glastonbury, Conn.
Matron of honor was Megan Underwood of Vienna, W.Va. Bridesmaid was Samantha Marty of Marietta, the bride's niece.
Flower girl and ringbearer were Hannah Marty and Will Marty, niece and nephew of the bride.
Matt Baldwin of Parkersburg was best man and Tom Martin of East Haddam, Conn., served as groomsman. Tim and Bill Marty, brothers of the bride, served as ushers.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of Parkersburg High School. She received a B.A. in elementary education from Marshall University and earned her M.A. in elementary education from West Virginia University in 2006. She is currently a kindergarten teacher for Wood County Schools.
The bridegroom is a 1997 graduate of West Virginia University with a B.A. in psychology. He earned his M.A. in counseling from Xavier University in 2004. He is currently the clinical coordinator at Pressley Ridge White Oak facility in Walker, W.Va.
The couple spent their honeymoon in San Francisco, Calif.
Hayhurst-Lowe
Layne R. Lowe of Belpre and Amanda Jean Hayhurst of Pennsboro, W.Va., were united in marriage on July 8, 2009.
The private ceremony was conducted in Parkersburg.
