Local church to take Angel Food orders

Second Congregational Church at 1855 Greene St., Marietta, is taking orders for Angel Food Ministries food units from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2; 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5; and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7.

Regular boxes available are the signature box for $30; senior/convenience box, $28; and allergen-free box, $23. Specialty boxes are also available.

Orders by mail must be received by Nov. 9. Online orders at www.angelfoodministries.com must be received before 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 8.

Delivery of this order will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14.

There are no restrictions on who can order, or how many food units a person can order.

Exercise sessions for women inspirational

Inspirational exercise sessions for women are being offered at Bethel Lighthouse Church on Washington County 126, near Ohio 676, Marietta, with an introductory session to begin Nov. 2 and continue through December.

Each session of classes will continue for two months with meeting times to be 10 to 11 a.m. on Mondays and 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays. Women may participate in one or both sessions each week.

This program, which is being offered as a ministry of Bethel Lighthouse Church, will be led by Vickie Hendershot, a certified group fitness instructor. Ladies of any age, fitness level or place on their spiritual journey are invited to participate.

Thanksgiving meal begins homecoming

Reno Memorial Christian Church in Reno will be having a Church Homecoming Weekend on Nov. 14 and 15.

The event will begin with the annual Thanksgiving dinner at 6 p.m. on Nov. 14. A ceremony will follow.

A special homecoming service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 15 with Don Seevers delivering the message.

'Trunk or Treat' for area children Oct. 31

The G.R.E.A.T. Committee of the Newport Baptist and Newport United Methodist churches will be having its fourth annual "Trunk or Treat" event for area children from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Newport Baptist Church parking lot on Greene Street in Newport.

The committee uses biblical stories in creating a Christian event that involves games, prizes and food for children that are trick or treat age.

Families in the community and surrounding area are welcome to attend this free event. Activities will be held indoors in case of bad weather.

Free Thanksgiving meal to be served

A free Thanksgiving dinner is being served at noon on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, at First Christian Church, 1400 Washington Ave., Parkersburg.

This free dinner is for everyone, including church members, family members, visitors and people of the community.

Anyone who would like to volunteer to help should contact the First Christian Church at (304) 485-5253. Donations will be accepted.

Guiler, college choir travel to Pa. chapel

Myron K. Guiler, pastor of Marietta Bible Center Church, will preach in the morning service at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1. Joe Offenberger will preach in the evening service at 6 p.m.

The Marietta Bible College Choir will travel to the Homeacre Chapel in Butler, Pa., on Nov. 6. In addition to a choral program by the choir, Guiler will preach in the 7 p.m. service at the church.

Pastors fellowship to meet in Cambridge

The Southeastern Ohio Pastors Fellowship will have its November meeting at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at the Great American Steak House in Cambridge.

Speakers will be Jack Berry, pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Bartlett; and Bill Salomon, pastor of Faith Gospel Church in Newport.

After the sessions, the pastors will have lunch together at the restaurant.
