Hathaway-Offenberger

Shannon Stephanie Hathaway and Joshua Derick Offenberger were united in marriage at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Beverly on Saturday, June 12.

Parents of the bride are Ernest and Carol Hathaway of Vienna. Parents of the bridegroom are Derick and Lee Ann Offenberger of Beverly. The bride's grandparents are the late Asa Richardson, the late Eleanor Shock, the late Orvan Hathaway, and Eulanee Hathaway. The bridegroom's grandparents are the late Marion and Shirley Wells, and Harold and Rita Offenberger.

Father Robert Kawa officiated the ceremony. Music was provided by organist Cathy Crock; the trumpeter was the bride's cousin, Robyn Ellison; and soloist was Amanda Sprouse.

The bride wore a chiffon, strapless, A-line gown with side draped bodice, beaded lace, a lace up back, and a sweep train. The bride's bouquet was an all-white hand-tied bouquet of roses and stephanotis with blue gem-centered accents.

Bridesmaids included Amanda Sprouse, Niki Balanovich, Sarah Carpenter, and Jackie Riddle. The junior bridesmaid was Addison Ferguson. The bridesmaids wore horizon blue knee-length dresses and carried a bouquet of pink and orange roses and gerbera daisies.

Best man was Corey Offenberger, the bridegroom's brother. The groomsmen included Chad Ball, Jesse Lang and Ray Hathaway, brother of the bride. The junior groomsman was the bridegroom's brother, Alex Offenberger.

Flower girls were Riley Balanovich and Grace Carpenter, daughters of bridesmaids, Niki Balanovich and Sarah Carpenter. Ring bearer was Kenny Sprouse, son of bridesmaid Amanda Sprouse. Guest registrars were Alexis Anderson and Taylor Hilverding. Altar servers were Liz and Mikaela Dyar.

The reception was held in the church's social hall. The groom's grandmother made the three-tiered pastel blue and white square cake, topped with a Precious Moment's figurine given to the bride by the groom during their courtship.

The bride will graduate from West Virginia University at Parkersburg in December with a bachelor's degree in elementary education with an English 5-9 specialization. The bridegroom has an associate's degree in business from Washington State University. Both the bride and bridegroom are presently employed at Washington County Juvenile Center as youth specialists. The bride will begin student teaching in August and the bridegroom will begin employment with Suddenlink Communications.

The couple honeymooned in Myrtle Beach and Busch Gardens and presently resides at their home in Vienna.
