The Unitarian Universalist Church will be hosting a solo piano recital by Randall Kidder, from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 29, in the Fellowship Hall, located at the corner of Third and Putnam Streets, Marietta. The program, titled "Popular Postludes (Not Only, But Also)" will include selections from ragtime, classical, jazz and gospel genres. Sponsored by the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Marietta, the recital is open to the public. Free will donations will be accepted. Randall Kidder holds a degree in piano performance from Heidelberg College (Tiffin, Ohio). He started tinkering on the piano when he was four years old, and began lessons when he was six. Between sixth and seventh grades he studied with Daniel Winter, at Wooster College. Throughout high school, he took lessons at the Cleveland Institute. He graduated from Heidelberg College. Kidder has been pianist for the UU congregation in Marietta since 2004, playing for worship services most Sundays.
