Harbor-Site Baptist celebrating one year
One year anniversary celebration will be held at 10 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 19, at HarborSite Baptist Church with Pastor Don Arbuckle with the theme "I Stand Amazed."
Special guest will be local violinist Claire Dent. The congregation invites the community to attend this special event. There will be a dinner on the grounds following the service. The church meets at 115 Victory Place (Harmar Hill) in the former Fairview Elementary School.
Gilman church offers program on diabetes
Diabetes Educational Program offered at the Gilman United Methodist Church, 312 Gilman Avenue, Marietta, at 7 p.m., Sept. 21, in the Fellowship Hall. The Director of the Marietta Memorial Hospital's, "Diabetes Education Center," Kathy Reis, RN, BSN, DCE, will be the speaker. A question and answer period will follow. The program is sponsored by the Health Ministry Team, and the public is invited.
Dinner, auction at First Congregational
A spaghetti dinner and theme cake silent auction will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at First Congregational Church, 318 Front St., Marietta.
Dessert and drink will be included, and hot dogs will be available.
The cost is $8 adults and $5 for children under age 10. Take-out available.
Proceeds will go towards repairing an historic pipe organ.
Church to celebrate homecoming
A homecoming celebration will begins with 10 a.m. services, Sept. 26, at Slate Chapel United Methodist.
Lunch will be served at noon. Bring a covered dish and dessert.
Followed by the special singing of the Chad Ray Family and Randy Brady.
The church is on Slate Creek Road.
Reno church plans soup supper Oct. 1
A soup supper will be held at Sand Hill United Methodist Church in Reno from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 1.
The meal will include bean and potato soup, dessert, hot dogs, and sauce. Good will offering.
Area church plans annual hog roast
An annual hog roast will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 1, at Corpus Christi Church, 221 Main St., Belle Valley, Ohio. There will be a raffle, crafts, bake sale, and car show.
Pancakes, sausages to be served Oct. 3
A pancake and sausage breakfast will be from 7 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, at Cutler Chapel United Methodist Church.
The breakfast is an all you can eat (free-will donation).
The church is two miles west on County Road 3 above Belpre.
World Communion to be celebrated
Worship service and a celebration of World Communion will be held at 10 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 3, at Howe's Grove Park.

Country store and luncheon at Gilman
Country store and luncheon event is scheduled for 10 a.m to 1 p.m Saturday, Oct. 9, with lunch available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., including soup, sandwiches, dessert, and beverages, Gilman United Methodist Church, 312 Gilman Avenue, Marietta. Fun Run/Walk, 5K will be next month
Second annual Canaanville United Methodist Mission Fun Run/Walk and 5K will be held Saturday, Oct. 16.
The one mile kids fun run/walk will start at 8:45 a.m. and th 5K run/walk will begin at 9 a.m. at the Canaanville United Methodist Church, 15650 McAfee Rd., Athens.
Proceeds will be used to help fund Pastor Jim Lambert's mission trip to Nicaragua. Any additional funds raised will go toward the purchase of needed mission supplies.
Registration entry is $13 if received by Thursday, Oct. 14. Race day entry fee is $15. Entry fee for the kids one mile run/walk is $5. Federal Hocking Local students can participate for a reduced fee of $5. Please make checks payable to The Canaanville United Methodist Church.
