Tabitha Renay VanDyke and Wesley Douglas Thomas were united in marriage on April 17, in an outdoor ceremony at the gazebo at the Comfort Inn in Marietta. Pastor Wendy Erb officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Matthew and Renna Rankin of Belpre. She is the granddaughter of Bob and Kathie Suck of Parkersburg, Donna McDougle of Waterford and the late Owen McDougle, and the late Robert Rankin. She is the great-granddaughter of Katherine Suck of Mineral Wells.
The bridegroom is the son of Henry and Diane Sullivan, and Doug and Myla Thomas, all of Marietta. He is the grandson of Charles and Joyce Jones, Robert and Carol Thomas, and Robert and Susan Almond, all of Marietta; and Wayne and Carolyn Thomas of Gettysburg, Pa.
The bride wore an ivory strapless gown with a sweetheart bodice and a pickup style skirt adorned with embroidery and pearls, a tiara, strand of pearls, and a fingertip length veil. She carried a bouquet of ivory, pink, and burgundy roses and pink lilies.
The maid of honor was Tiffini VanDyke of Belpre, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Caitlin Browdie of Cleveland, Melissa Schulte of Tucson, Ariz., Angela Gindlesberger of Cleveland, Brittany Zaleski of Alliance, Ohio, and Miranda Lee of Marietta, sister of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids wore a strapless ball gown of sangria satin with side drape and crystal accent broach.
The best man was Brandon Thomas of Marietta, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Glen McClelland of Marietta, Chad Ball of Devola, David Roberts of Marietta, Jeremy Harris of Williamstown, and Brandan Wheeler of Marietta.
The ring bearers were Caden McDougle, cousin of the bride, and Diego, a canine from the Marietta police department.
Guests were greeted by Katherine Kimble, and Sarah and Laura Hill, cousins of the bridegroom, and Dayna McDougle cousin of the bride.
A reception was held immediately after the ceremony at the Comfort Inn in Marietta.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Belpre High School and a 2009 graduate of Marietta College with a bachelor's degree in athletic training with minors in biology and Spanish. She is currently attending Marietta College to obtain a Master of Science degree in physician assistant studies.
The bridegroom is a 2003 graduate of Marietta High School and a 2005 graduate of Washington State Community College. He is employed by the City of Marietta.
The couple celebrated their honeymoon on a cruise in the Caribbean and are residing in Marietta.
