Rachel Elizabeth Zumbro and Erik Richard Self were united in marriage on Oct. 2, at the Dale United Methodist Church in Dale, Ohio. Justin McKown officiated the customized handwritten ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Debra Hartleben of Belpre and D. Duane and Lucinda Zumbro of Dale. She is the granddaughter of Betty Kesterson of Vincent, Hubert and Shirley Hartleben of Dale, and E. Elaine Zumbro of Belpre.
The bridegroom is the son of S. Jeannine and Earl Combs of Lower Salem and Jerry and Sandy Self of Beverly. He is the grandson of Wilda Bachelor of Waterford and Mercedes Self of Beverly.
The bride wore an ivory and black custom made strapless gown with a sweetheart bodice and a full skirt adorned with silver embroidery and crystals, a crystal peacock hairpin with an ivory birdcage veil, and for the reception a vintage black hat with a black birdcage veil. She carried a bouquet of ivory, roses, crystal centered stephanotis and peacock feathers.
Bridesmaids were Heather Smith of Chicago, Ill., Debbie Hartleben of Belpre, Nicole Leister of Malta, and Becky Forrest of Waterford. The bridesmaids wore vintage inspired three quarter length dresses in black with crystal accents. They carried bouquets of roses, lotus, and feathers.
Groomsmen were Jacob Hinton of Hilliard, Ohio, Terry Woomer of Watertown, Brant Brooks of Waterford, and Steve Forrest of Waterford.
A reception was held immediately after the ceremony at the Eagles Club in Beverly, Ohio.
The couple celebrated their honeymoon in Nashville, Tenn. and are presently residing in Waterford, Ohio.
