Metheney-Winans

Jill Annette Metheney and Matthew Scott Winans were united in marriage in a private double ring ceremony on Aug. 6, at Living Word Church in Parkersburg. The ceremony was dually officiated by Pastor Chris Pugh and the Rev. Mark Mayfield. Pugh performed the vows and ring exchange. Mayfield performed the Unity Sand Exchange and The God Knot portion of the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mark and Debby Metheney of St. Marys, W.Va. She is the granddaughter of Carroll and Betty Metheney of St. Marys and Pauline Smith of St. Marys. She is a 1997 graduate of St. Marys High School and attended WVU-P. She is a preschool teacher at North Parkersburg Baptist Church ELC.

The bridegroom is the son of Ira and Ann Winans of Davisville, W.Va.. He is a 1986 graduate of Parkersburg High School. He is employed with Frontier Communications as a cable splicer. The men in attendance all wore khaki pants and white shirts in accordance with the Bermudian theme.

She wore a gown accented with glittery rhinestone straps wrapping the surplice bodice of a fluid matte jersey gown. Pleats below the empire waist and a floor-length skirt. She carried a bouquet of various lilies that was assembled by her mom. Her hair was accented by a rhinestone headband and pins.

Kara Pasquale and Mark and Becki Gwynn served as the witnesses. Hayley and Hayden Martin served as the flower girl and ring bearer. The Bermudian-themed cookout reception was held two weeks after the ceremony at the bride's parents home in St. Marys.

After taking a honeymoon cruise to Bermuda immediately following the ceremony, the couple resides in Parkersburg.
