Second Congregational Church, 1855 Greene St., Marietta, will be taking orders for January Angel Food Ministries boxes at the church located 1/2 mile past the Social Security Administration office.
There are a few changes. The After School Fruit and Veggie Box has returned to the list. A new box, "No Child Goes Without: has been added.
The Bit O'Blessing Box is $21 (available in limited quantities); the Bread of Life Signature Box is $31; and the Bountiful Blessing Box is $41. Fast and Flavorful Cuisine is $28 for 10 convenience meals for seniors, or people with no time to cook; an Allergen Free Food Box (no gluten) is $25. Three boxes are designed especially for children; the Just 4 Me After School Box is $24, the No Child Goes Without is $24, and the After School Fruit and Veggie Box is $16. January specials are: (#1) New York Strip Steak Box, 4 pounds for $24; (#2) Steaks and Chicken Combo Box, 5 pounds for $23; and (#3) is the Premium Fresh Fruit and Veggie Box for $23.
These food packages are available to anyone. They are prepaid by cash, check, debit/credit card, or EBT card (food stamps). Orders can be placed at the church on Monday, Jan. 10 from 9 to 11 a.m.; Thursday, Jan. 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Jan. 15, from 9 to 11 a.m. Online orders can be placed at www.angelfoodministries.com. Distribution day will be Jan. 22 from 9 to 11 a.m. To call orders in or mail them, they must be received by Jan. 17.
