GPS Sunday at Tunnel church

Contemporary Service at Tunnel United Methodist Church - Gather, Praise, Seek (GPS) will be held from 11:15 a.m. to noon Sunday. There will be light refreshments at 11 p.m. with worship following. Pastor Richard Thomas will be speaking on the topic "When Faith Is Tested", and will lead informal discussion. Communion will be celebrated. All are welcome to this time of contemporary Christian music, worship, seeking and fellowship. Tunnel Church is located on Ohio 550 at Tunnel, 4 miles west of Marietta.

Bible Center to hold prayer conference

The Marietta Bible College will hold its annual Prayer Conference on from Jan. 17 to 21. The sessions will be held Monday through Friday at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. and at 7 and 8 p.m. Each session will feature a preacher with a message on prayer.

The speakers will be Pastor Charles Herrell, Chilhowie, Va.; Pastor Dewey Williams, Bristol, Va.; Pastor Ray Carpenter, Lorain, Ohio; Pastor Bill Jones, Whitesburg, Ky.; Pastor Bruce McDowell, Sinking Springs, Ohio; Evangelist Cal Evans, Portsmouth; Pastor Randy Larry, Keiser, W.Va.; Pastor Dale Scott, Ludlow Falls, Ohio; and Pastor Mark Coburn, Beatyville, Ky.

In addition to the regular sessions, the South-eastern Ohio Pastor's Fellowship will meet on Monday, Jan. 17, with a special luncheon and a 1 p.m. meeting for the preachers. Dale McAllister, pastor of the Maranatha Bible Church of Zanesville will preach.

Moussa Moussa, a native of Syria, and graduate of the Marietta Bible College will teach a session on Islam during the conference.

Bible Center holds Sunday services

On Sunday, Jan. 16, Myron K. Guiler, pastor of the Marietta Bible Center Church, will preach in the morning service at 10 a.m.

Joe Offenberger will preach in the evening service at 6 p.m.

On Jan. 20, at 7 p.m., Pastor Guiler will teach the book of Revelation at the Kennonsburg Bible Church.

Vincent church to serve soup, salad

A soup and salad lunch will be served on Jan. 16 at Lighthouse Baptist Church of Vincent immediately following the 10 a.m. worship service. The public is invited to attend.

The sermon for the worship time will be on the subject of Baptism and will be preached by Pastor A. C. Smith. Bible study for all ages is at 9 a.m.

Lighthouse Baptist Church is located on Ohio 339, between the villages of Vincent and Barlow.

Marietta church offers free pasta

There will be a pasta luncheon free to the community at First Baptist Church of Marietta at 301 Fourth St. on Saturday Jan. 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu will include spaghetti and ziti, marinara and meat sauce, salad, rolls, desserts and drinks.
