Workshop on end of life care offered
There will be a death and dying, spiritual and practical realities workshop about the end of life care at 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., March 4, at First Presbyterian Church, Parkersburg. Registration is due by Feb. 26. The facilitators include the Rev. Bill Thomas, chaplain, Amedisys Hospice Care of Parkersburg and Father Dan Pisano, pastor, St. Matthew Catholic Church in Ravenswood, and a panel including representatives from Hospice and Integrated Geriatric Care. The event is sponsored by the Health Ministry Initiative program of the SJ Charitable Fund and the First Presbyterian Church of Parkersburg. It is an interactive program which is open to the public. Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner
St Luke's Episcopal Church, 320 Second St., Marietta, will be having a Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner from 5:30 to 7 p.m. March 8.
Tickets, available at the door, are $5 for adults, $2.50 for children, and $15 for families. Proceeds will be spent on Community Outreach project.
World Day of Prayer will be March 4
World Day of Prayer will be held Friday (March 4) at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fulda. The theme, developed by the women of Chile, is "How many loaves have you?" Registration will begin at 10 a.m. with the service beginning at 10:30 a.m. A light lunch will follow in the parish social hall.
World Day of Prayer is a worldwide ecumenical movement of women and men of many faith traditions who come together each year on the first Friday of March to observe a common day of prayer.
The public is invited. The church is on Noble County 15, off Ohio 564, six miles east of Caldwell.
Free lunch offered each week
The Daily Bread Kitchen located at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Franklin Street in Harmar Village will be serving a baked chicken lunch, including German potato salad, baked beans, dinner roll, beverage and dessert from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23.
This free community lunch is sponsored every Wednesday by St. Mary's Catholic Health Ministries and the Knights of Columbus.
Lower Salem soup supper planned
The Lower Salem United Methodist Church will be having a soup supper from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lower Salem Community Building in Lower Salem. The menu will consist of homemade pies, sandwiches, and homemade desserts. The cost is free will offering with everyone welcome to attend. All proceeds will go to the church.
Tunnel church offers GPS?service
Contemporary Service at Tunnel United Methodist Church - Gather, Praise, Seek (GPS) will be held from 11:15 a.m. to noon Sunday. There will be a gathering for light refreshments at 11 a.m. with worship following. Pastor Richard Thomas will be speaking on the topic, "God Has an App for That, Part 4: A New Community." and will lead informal discussion. All are welcome to this time of contemporary Christian music, worship, seeking and fellowship. Tunnel Church is on Ohio 550 at Tunnel, four miles west of Marietta.

Tunnel Relay for Life team holds dinner
Tunnel Relay For Life Team will hold a lasagna dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 27 at Tunnel United Methodist Church. The menu will include homemade lasagna, salad, bread, beverage and various homemade desserts. Cost is by donation which goes to Relay For Life (American Cancer Society). Pans of lasagna can also be purchased ready-to-eat or ready-to-bake by ordering ahead.

There will be a men's prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. today at the Marietta Bible Center Church. Jack Berry, pastor of the Bible Baptist Church of Bartlett, will be speaking.

Guiler to preach about Bible, Hell
Myron K. Guiler, pastor of the Marietta Bible Center Church, will preach in the 10 a.m. Sunday service. He will continue his series on the Bible Teaching on Hell. The message will be "The torment of Hell." He will preach his final message in the series on, "The Parade of Hell," on Feb. 27.
Joe Offenberger returned last week from his mission trip to the Philippines. He will be giving a report of the trip on Sunday. He will also be preaching at the 6 p.m. service.
The mid-week service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday with Offenberger leading the bible study.
Guiler will conduct a bible study from the Book of Revelations, Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Kennonsburg Bible Church.

Youth to sponsor square dances
St. Bernard's youth group will be sponsoring two square dances in the church hall at 305 Seventh St., Beverly. They will be held from 8 to 11 p.m., on Friday, March 18 and Friday, April 15. The Buckeye Travelers will be calling the dances. There will also be cake walks, a country store, and a concession stand at each dance.
