By Mike Morrison, The Marietta Times

The Mid-Ohio Valley will be well represented in this year's Battle Against Cystic Fibrosis (BACF) Ohio-West Virginia All-Star game.

The 10th annual BACF contest will be held at Parkersburg South High School on Saturday April 2.

River head coach Mark Romick will be the coach for the Ohio team this year.

The Ohio roster will be captained by Austin Cunningham of Warren.

The 6-foot senior was recently named third-team All-Ohio after averaging 19.1 points per contest for the Warriors on the season.

Cunningham also averaged 5.4 rebounds per game, while dishing out 4.8 assists per game.

Cunningham will be joined on the Ohio roster by fellow Warrior Grant Venham.

Venham averaged 11.9 points per game while pulling down 8.4 rebounds per game to earn honorable mention from the state.

The Marietta Tigers will send two of their own to the contest.

Wes Riley, who poured in 13 points per game to go along with 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game, will be joined by big 6-foot-11 Jon Sewell (7.0 ppg, 7.0 rebounds.)

Pioneer Valley conference rivals' Fort Frye and Frontier will both be represented on this year's team as Cadet Garrett Legraen (12.3 ppg, 5.6 rebounds) and Cougar Corey Fickiesen (19.8 ppg, 10.6 rebounds) were selected, respectively.

Legrean and Fickiesen were both recently named special mention All-Ohio.

The Waterford Wildcats will send 6-foot-3 senior Levi Porter. Porter averaged a double-double on the 2011 season, going for 10.3 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

Porter also received honorable mention All-Ohio.

Other members of this year's squad will include guards Tucker Brown of River, Michael Chapman of Alexander, Rashawn Miller of Belpre, Brayden Pratt of Eastern, Sam Ramshire of River, and Kyle Roberts of Meadowbrook.

Six-foot-eight Noah Guthrie of Trimble and 6-foot-9 Jack Hart of Alexander will be the remaining big men on the Ohio roster.

In addition to the game itself, there will be a 3-point shooting contest as well as a slam-dunk contest.

The boys game will follow the girls game at approximately 6:15 p.m.
