Visitors bureau wins national award
The Marietta/Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau has received the 2010 All Star Award from Constant Contact, Inc., the marketing advisor to more than 400,000 small organizations worldwide.
The Marietta/Washington County CVB is one of Constant Contact's 2010 top performers and most prolific user of its tools, whether within Constant Contact's e-mail marketing, event marketing, social media marketing, or survey products - or a combination of all four.
Chamber launches Tech Tuesdays
Beginning next week, the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce will be launching Tech Tuesday.
On the second Tuesday of each month experts will explain what's new and how to use technology to promote a business.
Tech Tuesday presents "Meet the Geek" on Tuesday, April 12. "Geeks" will help businesses get on Facebook.
"Meet the Geek" will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Lafayette Hotel. Space is limited.

Public Debt annual award presented
Karen Hieb, an administrative specialist in Public Debt's Office of the Commissioner/Public and Legislative Affairs Staff, is the 2011 winner of the Patrick J. Mulligan Service Award.
The Mulligan Award is presented annually to recognize a Public Debt employee who has shown exemplary service to the bureau community and its customers.
The award is named for a former Public Debt personnel officer.
Hieb received a $2,000 award and a plaque.
The other Mulligan Award finalists honored during the March 17 ceremony included Sue Douglas, Administrative Resource Center; Pat Shook, Office of Retail Securities; Resa Vavra, Office of Management Services; Tonya Hill,
Office of Public Debt Accounting; Rose Coleman, Office of Information Technology; and
Terri Roddy, Office of Financing.
