Gerald and Eileen Swaney of Marietta, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on April 16. They were married in Cumberland, Md. on April 16, 1941, by the Rev. J. A. Flora.
They have four children: Randy (Janet) Swaney of Marietta; Diane Swaney Spindler and the late Richard Spindler Jr. of Marietta; Geraldine Swaney Yakubik and Tom of Barlow; and J. P. Swaney (Lori) of Marietta. They have five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
They celebrated their anniversary on Sunday, April 17, at Wagner Union Church after church services with a dinner and several of their friends and family in attendance.
