70th: Charles, Blanche Wince

PARKERSBURG - Charles J. and Blanche Wince of Parkersburg will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with an open reception given in their honor by their children and grandchildren from 2 to 4 p.m. June 4 at Cytec Sycamore Lake Park, Willow Island, W.Va.

The couple were married May 31, 1941, by the Rev. W.T. Lantz of St. Marys.

Mrs. Wince is the daughter of the late Perry and Julia Stewart of St. Marys. She is a retired registered nurse. She graduated from St. Marys High School and St. Joseph's School of Nursing. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital, Sistersville General, New Martinsville and Marietta Memorial.

Wince is the son of the late Harve and Cora wince of Finch, W.Va. He is a retired school teacher (industrial arts and mechanical drawing). He is a graduate of Pennsboro High School, West Virginia Institute of Technology and West Virginia University. He retired in 1980 after teaching in Tyler County High, Sistersville High and Wood County Schools (Parkersburg High and Edison Junior High). He is a veteran of World War II and served three years in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

Mr. and Mrs. Wince are the parents of two daughters, Carol (Robert) Anderson of Parkersburg and Judy Underwood of Waverly; and two sons, Terry of St. Marys and the late Charles Gary. They have nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
