On Sunday, Aug. 27, 1961, at 7:30 p.m., Patricia Ann Wilson and John "Jack" William Horner repeated their vows in an open church ceremony. The Rev. J. Bruce Kaufman performed the ceremony in the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church in Deerwalk, W.Va..
She is the daughter of the late Lawrence and Erman Wilson of Petroleum, W.Va. He is the son of the late Howard and Janet Horner of Ohio 1 in Little Hocking.
50 years later, the couple are residing in Belpre and are the parents of Janet (Brad) Shutts of Belpre and Lajuana (Robert) Cisneros of Mineral Wells. They are the grandparents of Leanne (Steve Deem), John (Courtney), Brandon, Spencer, Patricia, Molli; and have a great-granddaughter, Krislyn Shutts; and great grandsons, Kaleb and Aaron Deem.
He is employed at Surface foods and Patricia is retired. The couple enjoy spending time together in the yard, in their garden and most of all, with their family.
An open house to celebrate their 50 years of marriage, will be held Aug. 27, from 3 to 6 p.m. at their home, 741 Tuttle Street, Belpre. Everyone is welcome and gifts are to be omitted.
