Don Drumm Stadium re-opened after a $300,000 renovation. Work on the stadium was completed in time for Marietta High School's football season opener.

The Department of Education reported that based on 1992 achievement tests, only 16 percent of fourth-graders, 8 percent of eighth-graders and 9 percent of high school seniors could correctly answer mathematics questions requiring problem solving skills.
