Richard and Diana Sams celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 28. They were married by the Rev. Norman Williams at the Gilman United Methodist Church in Marietta.
She is the daughter of the late Alva and Pauline Christman of Quaker City. He is the son of the late Hoyt and Erma Sams of Marietta.
He works at RJF International as a steam engineer. She is a secretary at the Marietta City Schools Board of Education.
The couple have two children: Cathey (Jason) Bach of Bridgeport and Rick (Britton) Sams of Dayton. They have two grandchildren: Beckham and Madeline Sams.
Their children gave them a trip to the Greenbrier Resort as an anniversary gift.
