Ed and Ruth Doan of New Matamoras will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Friday, Feb. 24. They were married on Feb. 24, 1952, at the United Methodist Church in New Matamoras by the Rev. J.W. Douds.
He is the son of the late Reece and Beryl Doan and she is the daughter of the late Chris and Estella Cline.
He retired in 1991 from Conalco Aluminum Plant after 30 years. She worked for Hossman Insurance Agency and Frontier Insurance Agency for 20 years.
The couple have four children: Karen (Dan) Latham of Chillicothe, Randy (Betty) Doan of Parkersburg, Tim (Bev) Doan of New Matamoras, and Melissa (Mike) Brightwell of Marietta.
They also have four grandsons: Scott (Jennifer) Latham, Ryan (Nicole) Latham, Eric (Jackie) Latham, and Randall (Melissa) Doan II.
