Fur & Feather 4-H Club
Fur & Feather 4-H held a meeting at the Washington County Fair Grounds on Feb. 19 at 6 p.m.
Members present were Colin Starkey, Brett Neader, Abigale Heiner, Shannon Haessly, Brooke Neader, Brittany Martin, Riley Hearing, Lyndsey Sandford, Owen Gage, Stacy Gage and Dash Barnes.
New Members attending were Avery Seckman, Kylee Newlen, Isaac Peck. Advisors present were Kelly Jester, Jeremy Barth, Julia Hughes
Pledges were led by Isaac Peck and Brooke Neader.
Election of Officers: president, Colin Starkey; vice-president, Owen Gage; secretary, Jessie Mossack; treasurer, Bailey Lauderman; scrapbook/historian, Lyndsey Sandford; news reporter, Riley Hearing; recreation leader, Brett Neader; safety officer, Brooke Neader; and health officer, Stacy Gage.
Need to know news: 4-H Enrollment/Re-enrollment forms and chicken and turkey orders need turned in by April 15. Candy bar sales start Feb. 27. Money needs turned in to advisors by March 23. All money and orders need turned into extension office by March 26. There are 50 bars per box and four boxes per case. Twenty cents per bar can go toward 4-H camp. 4-H camp costs $130 for 4-H members and $190 for non 4-H members. Mock rabbit show is April 14 (set up April 13 at 6 in the Fine Arts Building at the Fair Grounds). Donations needed for country store by club members (Brooke will need help with country store). Concessions: Laurie is going to see about donations. There will be taco in a bag, sloppy joes and hot dogs. Breed ID: Club voted to buy medallions for the winners of this contest. Club will need to also help with sorting cards, writing comment cards. Kelly will let people know if she needs any rabbits for breed ID. Quality Assurance is March 13 at Fort Frye High School from 7 to 9 (this is for market livestock and lactating cows or goats projects). Officer Training is March 20 at Washington County Career Center at 7 p.m. 4-H Endowment Dinner is March 31, $10 youth, $20 adult. They have an auction and country store with very nice things. The club can donate to the country store.
The next meeting is march 18 at 6 p.m. at Fair Grounds.
