Reno worship center invites guest prophet

Family Worship Center, 27460 State Route 7, Marietta, will be having the School of Prophets at 6 p.m. March 17. The guest will be Dr. Prophet John David Kirby. This will be his first time at the school. Everyone is invited to join in the service.

Pastor's message: 'Connect the Dots'

On Sunday, March 18, beginning at 10:30 a.m., at the Gilman United Methodist Church, 312 Gilman Ave., Marietta, Pastor Diann O'Bryant will deliver the message,"Connect the Dots," helping us understand how to connect the dots in our lives.

Special service at Grace Bible Church

On Sunday, March 18, Joe Offenberger will preach in both the 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. services of the Marietta Bible Center Church.

Myron, K. Guiler, pastor of the Marietta Bible Center Church is scheduled to preach at the Community Baptist Church of Greensboro, N.C. The meeting will go through Wednesday.

Jon Layner will preach Sunday in all services of the Countryside Baptist Church of Port Washington, Ohio, near Newcomerstown.

The Marietta Bible College Choir, along with Guiler, will have a special service at the Grace Bible Church of Sinking Springs, Ohio, near Hillsborough, on Friday, March 16, at 7 p.m.

Spaghetti dinner to be at Belpre church

There will be a spaghetti dinner at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Belpre on Saturday, March 24 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children. This price includes spaghetti, salad, Texas toast, homemade dessert and drink. St. Mark's is located at 302 Maple Street.

Empty Bowls lunch to be held March 24

Empty Bowls 2012, a luncheon to "help feed the hungry," will be held Saturday, March 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 318 Front St., Marietta. Hand-made bowls, soup donated by some Marietta restaurants, home made cookies, rolls, and drinks will be available for $10. Lunch only is $5. All proceeds go to the Marietta Area Food Pantry, with other area food pantries receiving pro-rated gifts.

A silent auction will also be held at the same time, with a selection from each potter's or school's work.

The lunch is co-sponsored by the area potters, Marietta restaurants, First Congregational Church, St. Luke's Episcopal Church, and the First Unitarian Universalist Church.

Church offering free lunch for community

First Presbyterian Church of Marietta is offering a free lunch for the community on Tuesday, March 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu is pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, fruit, dessert and beverage. The church is located on the corner of Wooster and Fourth streets with the entrance off Wooster Street. Everyone is welcome.

Dinner planned at Gilman UM Church

Gilman United Methodist Church will be hosting a dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on March 30. The menu will include chicken noodle bake, green beans, cole slaw, rolls, dessert, and a beverage. The church is located at 312 Gilman Ave., Marietta. The event is sponsored by the church for a free-will offering.

Breakfast Bash set for Sunday at church

Lower Salem United Methodist Church is hosting a Breakfast Bash. It will be held on March 18 at the Lower Salem Community Hall, 97 Main St., Lower Salem. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. A pancake bar will be featured with breakfast casseroles, sausage biscuits and gravy, fried potatoes and more. It is a free will offering.

Local church holding services, Bible study

Services at House of the Forgiven Church, at 535 B.F. Goodrich Road, Oak Grove Recreation Center, in Marietta, are held at 11 a.m on Sundays. Bible study is held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at Pastor Rick and Pastor Sherry Ritchie's home, 103 Circle Drive, Marietta.
