James and Norma Thieman of Churchtown will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a Mass and family reception. They were married May 12, 1962, at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Churchtown by the late Monsignor Charles Highland.
She is the daughter of the late Edna Christy Dyar and Howard Dyar. She returned to work after raising her family and then retired from Big Bear Stores.
He is the son of the late Mary Huck Thieman and Wilford Thieman. After 33 years of service at B.F. Goodrich/RJF International, he retired in 1996. He also served as a Watertown Township Trustee.
They are the parents of six daughters: Cynthia Hooper (fiance, Billy Putnam), Lorinda, and Melissa of Marietta, Julie (Paul) Marston of Groton, Mass., Celeste of Hilliard, Ohio, and Kristin of Churchtown. They have four grandchildren: Eric, Cory, Bennett and Claire.
