Jimmy and Betty Smith were married on May 29, 1947, in Washington County. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 2 with their family at the family cabin on Martin Road in Reno.
She is a homemaker and he is retired from Elkem Metals.
The couple have nine children: Susie (Don) Thomas, Darrell (Mary) Smith, Janet (Albert) Brookover, Randy (Penny) Smith, Marvin (Chris) Smith, Mike (Chris) Smith, Brian Smith, Gary (Kim) Smith, and the late Linda (Ted) Taylor.
They have 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
