Churchtown Shining Stars

The Churchtown Shining Stars met on April 22. The meeting was called to order by Belle Huffman. Madison Roe led the pledge of allegiance and Belle Huffman led the 4-H pledge. A treasures report was given by Tanner Pottmeyer.

Demonstrations were given by Jude Huffman and Riley Schweikert. Jude did his demonstration on his gun and target and Riley gave her demonstration on a duck taped pen. Emma Smith did her demonstration on caring for her dog.

Isaac Huffman gave a safety report on staying safe on the street. Sydney Huffman did a health report on staying hydrated. Divinity Nyhart and Anna Marie Schaad led the group in the song, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Announcements: The next quality assurance meeting is May 17 at Frontier High School. There is a 4-H space camp for grades 5 through 7. The May 20 4H meeting is canceled. The next meeting will be in June.

Oak Grove Explorers

The Oak Grove Explorers had a meeting May 8 at the Oak Grove Recreation center. There were 19 members present. Aliza led the 4-H Pledge and Josh led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was taken by Katy and the members answered by saying their favorite summer activity. Treasurer Lydia gave the treasure report and a health report was given by Allen on drinking water and staying hydrated. The community service report was given and final plans were made for the 5k run/walk for Hervida. Club members made signs for the event. Austin gave a demonstration on focus on photography and Allen gave a demonstration on Ohio birds. The recreation was tag lead by Austin. The next meeting will be held May 22 at the Oak Grove recreation Center 7 p.m.

Churchtown Community Crew

The Churchtown Community Crew 4-H Club met on April 29 at 1 p.m., at St. John School. The meeting was called to order by President Mariah Stollar. Roll call was to your favorite color. Erin Hague led the 4-H pledge and Jaslynn Casto led the American Pledge. The song titled "Little Juicy Orange" was led by Erin Hague. A devotion titled "Real Love" was given by Marlee Stollar. The treasurer's report was given by Madison Wells. An energy report about electric fences was given by Isaac Lang. A health report about energy drinks was given by Clayton Lang. Clayton Lang also gave a safety report titled "Tire Safety".

Some club members attended Quality Assurance at Warren High School. The next Q.A. date is May 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Frontier High School. A Market Livestock Clinic was held April 28. All club officers who attended Officer Training on March 20 were thanked. Club members who helped at the Washington County Endowment Dinner and Auction were recognized.

Our club will have a table display and bake sale on May 12 at Tractor Supply. The chicken barbeque is May 5 at Camp Hervida. The Camp Hervida 5K Run and Walk is May 12.

Club members collected items in for the Humane Society. A photo was taken and donations will be delivered. 4-H camps are the following dates: Clover bud Camp is July 11, Beginner Camp is July 11 -12th , Junior Camp is July 2 - 6th , and Senior Camp is July 16 -20. The club decided to donate money for a trophy to be given at the Washington County Fair in memory of Lauren Payne. Mariah Stollar gave a safety demonstration about Carteens and car safety.

Derrick Tornes led recreation. Club members jumped rope and played basketball. The Poultons brought refreshments. The next meeting will be May 15, at 6 p.m. at St. John School. The Stollars will give demonstrations. The Langs and Hagues will bring refreshments.
