Basketball and fishing are on Saturday's agenda at Marietta's Buckeye Park.
"Our basketball skills day to sign up for the summer youth basketball program begins at the Buckeye Park courts at 10 a.m. for kids in grades 8, 9 and 10, and at 11 a.m. for 5th, 6th and 7th graders," said Susan Joyce, recreation clerk for the city of Marietta.
Registration for the program is $40 per child.
"The program runs through the month of July and games are played every Monday and Thursday at Buckeye Park," Joyce said. "Our first game is July 5."
Also on Saturday is the city's annual youth fishing derby at Buckeye Park for children 16 and younger.
Joyce said sign-up for the derby is from 8 to 9 a.m., and the derby runs from 9 to 11 a.m. The event is free and a free lunch will be served at 11 a.m.
"There will be food, prizes and more," she said. "Just bring your fishing pole and bait."
