Ralph and Karen Lockhart are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married June 23, 1962, at the Fifth Street Church of Christ in Beverly with Fred Albrecht officiating.
She is the daughter of the late Melvin and Kathleen Miller. He is the son of the late Ralph Sr. and Betty Lockhart.
After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1981, the couple returned home to Beverly. They started their own automotive business and then sold tractors and push mowers. She also worked at the Village Building in Beverly for 17 years as a 911 Emergency Dispatcher. Both currently work for the Beverly-Waterford Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department. They enjoy buying and restoring old cars and are members in a car club.
They have three sons: Wayne (Lenora) of Lowell, Dennis (Angela) of Newark, Ohio, and Scott of Pickerington, Ohio. They are the grandparents of Michal of Columbus, Alex of Newark, and David of Lowell. They also have a dog and two cats as well as two grand dogs and four grand cats.
The couple will be honored at a reception located at the Beverly-Waterford Squad/Township Building located on Fourth Street in Beverly. The celebration is open to friends and family on Saturday, June 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. and will be hosted by their children and grandchildren. Cake, nuts, mints, coffee and soda will be provided.
