George F. Pool, 77, of (Brownsville) New Matamoras, Ohio died Thursday (June 28, 2012) at the Barnesville Hospital. He was born in Brownsville, Ohio Nov. 15, 1934, a son of the late Frank and Julia Pearl Buegel Pool.
George retired from Ormet Aluminum in March of 1989. He was a life-long farmer and a member of the Farm Bureau, 50 year member and past Master of the Jollie Grange of Brownsville, member of the Monroe County Soil & Water Conservation District, and the Ormet Retirees Association.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Baiker Pool of Brownsville; one son, Stephen F. (Cheryl) Pool of Brownsville; one daughter, Anne (David) Heinzman of Brownsville; one sister, Janet (Gene) Winland of Florida; and three grandchildren, Stephanie Rogers, LeeAnn Picklesimer, and Mathew Heinzman.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield, Ohio where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday (July 2, 2012) with the Rev. James Schoonover officiating. Interment will be in the German Lutheran Cemetery Brownsville, Ohio.
