Local families can get involved in cultural exchange program

July 9, 2012
The Marietta Times

Families in Marietta and the surrounding area now have the opportunity to become involved in a global cultural exchange. Shelia Holland has been selected to run the local student exchange program for Aspect Foundation, a non-profit organization that sponsors students from nearly 30 countries.

Holland will help to match students with families, and serve as Aspect Foundation's liaison with local schools and colleges. With Holland's help, many families will make unforgettable memories when they a host an exchange student for a semester or school year. Local teens can also participate by spending a semester or academic year studying abroad with Aspect Foundation's Outbound Program.

Aspect Foundation students are aged 15-18, and are chosen on the basis of maturity, grades, and language ability. Host families provide room, board and a loving home environment for the students. In return, host families and exchange students learn about another culture firsthand.

For more information about the Aspect Foundation and how your family can have the cultural adventure of a lifetime, contact Shelia Holland at (740) 336-4441, the Aspect Foundation national office at

1-800-US-YOUTH, or visit www.aspectfoundation.org to view profiles of available students.
