Hospice program to offer grief support group

Marietta Home Health and Hospice will be offering adults in the community dealing with the loss of a loved one to join grief support meetings. The meetings, facilitated by hospice bereavement staff, offer an opportunity to talk with others who are grieving while receiving support in a supportive and confidential environment. Coping With All Losses: Monthly Grief Support Group. At these monthly meetings individuals dealing with the loss of a loved one may discuss topics such as understanding grief reactions, adjusting to changes, and learning to cope. Meetings are held in three locations: Belpre, Pioneer Presbyterian Church (Fellowship Hall), 873 Farson Street, Thursdays at 1 to 2:30 p.m., July 12, Aug. 9, Sept. 13: Beverly, Beverly United Methodist Church (Lounge), 700 Park Street, Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. to noon, Sept. 25: Marietta, Marietta Home Health and Hospice, 450 Pike Street (Lafayette Plaza) Wednesdays at noon to 1 p.m., July 11, Aug. 8, Sept. 12.

Grief is a Journey: Grief Education and Support Class. This four week class provides an opportunity to learn about the grief process while sharing with others who are grieving. Topics will include defining grief, recognizing grief reactions, and developing self-care strategies. Group members are encouraged to attend all four meetings. Please register in advance: Marietta, Marietta Home Health and Hospice, 450 Pike Street (Lafayette Plaza) Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. to noon, Aug. 7, Aug. 14, Aug. 21, Aug. 28.

Support Group: The First Year of Coping With Loss of a Spouse. These monthly meetings focus on issues and challenges faced by individuals dealing with changes in life during the first year after the loss of a spouse or partner. Marietta: Marietta Home Health and Hospice, 450 Pike Street (Lafayette Plaza) Wednesdays at 1 to 2:30 p.m., July 25, Aug. 29, Sept. 26.
