Steve and Teresa Porter of 106 Chippewa Dr., Marietta will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children. Family and friends are invited to the Lafayette Hotel on Sunday, Aug. 5 from 2 to 5 p.m. The couple requests no gifts.
They were married on Aug. 5, 1972, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Marietta by the Rev. Edward M. Eberhart. They are the children of Donald Porter and the late Dorothy Porter and Edward and Betty Schoeppner, all of Marietta.
They have two sons: Chris (Darcie) Porter of Marietta and Michael Todd (Sara) Porter of Wesley Chapel, Fla. There are four grandchildren: Henry, Eva, Audrey and Sarina.
He is employed at the Washington County Career Center as a Transition/Placement Coordinator and she is a counselor with L&P Services. They are members of First Congregational Church in Marietta.
