Jewelry bingo at Warren High School

Jewelry Bingo, featuring Premiere Designs, will be held Aug. 14 in the Warren High School cafeteria. Proceeds will benefit the Warren High School Choral program. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games begin at 7. The cost is $20 for 20 games. Extra sheets are available for $1. There will be a 50/50 drawing, concessions and a country store featuring Tastefully Simple, Beauti-Control, Bath and Body, Longaberger and more.

Rabies vaccinations offered at fair

Rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats will be offered from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Barlow Fairgrounds shelter. The cost is $7 per animal. Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in carriers. All animals must be at least 12 weeks old.

Tadpole Run Road to close for repair

Dunham Township Road 287 (Tadpole Run Road) will be closed beginning Monday for approximately four weeks for the replacement of the Hardie Bridge, located 0.75 miles south of Washington County Road 3 (Veto Road).

Tunnel church will serve free meal

A free community meal will be offered from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 9 at Tunnel United Methodist Church, Ohio 550 and Coffman Road. For information or to arrange a delivery within a 6-mile radius, call 374-5634.

Legion hosts shrimp, beer dinner

A shrimp and beer dinner will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the American Legion Post 64, Eighth and Wooster streets, Marietta. There will also be a round and square dance from 7 to 10 p.m. with 4 Hits and A Miss. The cost is $4 per person. There will also be a 50/50 drawing. The event is open to the public.

County elections board to meet

The Washington County Board of Elections will be holding its regular monthly meeting at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 8 in the board conference room.

Horseman's council to hold meeting

The Washington County chapter of the Ohio Horseman's Council Inc. will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Christ United Methodist Church, 301 Wooster St., Marietta. Gala Goldsmith, district ranger of the Wayne National Forest, will be the guest speaker. Meetings are open to the public.
