Mark Gruetze was named managing editor of The Marietta Times.
The champion Windbreakers skateboard team from Westerville will be in Marietta for the Friday's Four Corners festival. The skateboard performances will be held in front of the Washington County Courthouse at noon and 1 p.m.

The juveniles involved in painting the wading pool with black paint will be ordered into juvenile court on Aug. 10.
George Light is demolishing the large two-story brick house on the south end of his property. The house was built at the turn of the century. Light will soon turn the site into a parking lot.

Extensive improvements in the Marietta water mains were planned by the City Council.
Charles Bules, Western Union messenger boy, was awarded a cash prize for his part in the big safety campaign conducted by the firm.

The election board elected new members. August 23 and 24 will be registration days for electors.
Because the Marietta Band will go with the local Elks lodge to Bellaire for the Elks Home dedication, the Marietta Band concert has been moved to Aug. 7.
