The bride is the daughter of Cynthia and Jerrel Anderson of Vienna, W.Va. She is the granddaughter of the late Laura and Lester Anderson of Milan, Ill. and the late Leona and Virgil Anderson of East Moline, Ill. She is a 1984 graduate of Parkersburg High School, a graduate of Miami University of Ohio with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Metalsmithing with a minor in French, and she received her Master of Fine Arts in painting from University of California, Berkeley in 1990. She is a freelance web designer and an artist (painter) represented by the George Lawson Gallery in Los Angeles, Calif.
The bridegroom is the son of the late Ann McConville Hunt of Redding, Calif. and Paul Hocking of San Carlos, Calif. He is the grandson of the late Loren and Helen Hunt of Berkeley, Calif. He attended Berkeley High School in Berkeley, Calif. and received his bachelor's degree in International Relations and History with a minor in German from San Francisco State University. The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a silk georgette art deco-inspired, mermaid silhouette gown with a corset back and pleat details. She carried a bouquet of peach roses, white mini calla lilies, white ranunculus, narcissus, and yellow Craspedia.
The maid of honor was the bride's sister, Cheryl Anderson, of Oakland, Calif. She wore a pleated chiffon iridescent-plum cocktail length dress and carried a bouquet of purple mini calla lilies, white ranunculus and narcissus, and yellow Craspedia. All floral arrangements were designed by Barb Eaton, a friend of the bride.
Tom Hanley served as best man. Guest Registrar was Kim Huwiler (nee Bailey) of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Vienna, W.Va. A reading was given by Nancy Sones, cousin of the bride. Soloist was Emily Sones, cousin of the bride, and the usher was Stuart Sones, cousin of the bride.
The ceremony was held outdoors overlooking the winery's vineyards. Wine and hors d'oeuvres were served after the ceremony, followed by a three-course dinner and dancing in the winery's barrel room. The wedding cake was a three-tier chocolate cake filled with dark chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries, decorated with a chocolate swirl Jackson Pollock style design inspired by how the couple met - a conversation starter was a joke about the abstract painter Jackson Pollock.
The couple honeymooned in Costa Rica and resides in Oakland, Calif.
