Cheryl Ann Mackey and Joshua Cameron Barrax were united in marriage on June 9, 2012. The double ring ceremony was held at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh in Raleigh, N.C. and performed by the Rev. John Saxon.
The bride is the daughter of Sandra Vanoster and the late Don Vanoster, both of Marietta. She is a graduate of Marietta High School and an alumna of Marietta College, Ohio University and Washington State Community College.
The bridegroom is the son of Geneva Barrax of Wheeling, W.Va. and Gerald Barrax Sr. of Raleigh, N.C. He is a graduate of Wheeling Park High School and an alumnus of both Marshall University and West Virginia University at Parkersburg. Both are registered nurses licensed in the state of North Carolina.
The wedding party included Gerald Barrax Jr., Alicia Gibbs, Divinity Neihart, Darian and Tanner Latham, sons of the bride; Zoe and Sophia Williams, nieces of the bridegroom; and Kaya and Andrea Moore, nieces of the bridegroom.
The reception was held at the Embassy Suites on Creedmoor Road in Raleigh, N.C.
The couple now resides in Cary, N.C. and plan an October honeymoon cruise in the Gulf of Mexico.
