Ohio Valley Cable Corp. was sold to a subsidiary of Tele-Communications Inc., a Denver, Colo.-based firm. While the change means a probable increase in price, more channels will be available.
The annual Ohio Sternwheel Festival is set to kick off in the afternoon. Thirty boats are expected to line the levee and festivities will be in full swing in both Marietta and Williamstown.

Frank Whiting's fingers were badly mangled when they came into contact with a saw in the packing department of the Safe-Cabinet Company. At least one finger may have to be amputated.
