To the author who recently wrote, "While admittedly controversial, not all Christians are against the concept of same sex marriage," and to all of the same beliefs, I say read John 8: 37-44. These holy scriptures quote Jesus Christ. He says clearly that one lives either by God's way or the devil's way. There is no middle ground.
Saint Vincent of Lerins, 5th century on the Holy Scriptures, said "Every care should be taken to hold fast to what has been believed everywhere, always, and by all. (We do so) in regard to antiquity if we in no way deviate from those interpretations which our ancestors and fathers have manifestly proclaimed as inviolable."
In regards to homosexuality and homosexual marriage, the scriptures are very clear. Homosexuality is sin. In response to the charges of hatred; those who practice, preach, condone, legalize, ignore, or in any way at all support this abhorrent lifestyle, are guilty of hatred. This hatred is first and foremost, directed towards God. Their hatred is spewed out on God's peoples, who suffer this sinful malady, and those children forced to live in these hideous environments.
I say that those who claim to be Christian and believe this sinful life is OK, are deluding themselves about being Christian. The enemy of man wins when he turns ones head away from total commitment to God.
It is not my intention to condemn anyone for their beliefs and actions. That will be announced by God to each of us when we meet with Him on judgment day. Let all those who practice or condone this sinful lifestyle hear these words from Jesus Christ, as He warns us as to who we really follow and really are. John 8:44 reads, "You are of your father the devil and the desires of your father you want to do ..., When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it." These holy scriptures implicate all individuals or churches who condone these sinful ways.
Please pick up your Bibles and read the blessed word of God. Pray for guidance and strength. Thank you for taking time to read this letter.
