The Marietta Times

The 86th reunion for the families of Casper and Salome Ruch Wallenfelsz and Charles and Catherine Weppler Miller was held Aug. 12 at the Lower Salem Community Building.

Martin Hansell gave the opening prayer before a covered dish dinner for 45 family members and guests.

A short business meeting was held by Al Miller, president. It was approved to retain the same officers and also agreed to stay at the same meeting place for next year's reunion.

Prizes were given to Geoff Moeckel, traveled farthest; Cricket Matthews, oldest; Noah and Leah Jasper, youngest; Marty and Cheryl Hansell, largest family; and Jaunita Hinkle, door prize.

The families visited and group pictures were taken. The children played in a sawdust pile and had prizes and candy.

Family members and guests attended from Caldwell, Gahanna, Lancaster, Lowell, Marietta, Pataskla, Reno, Vincent and Waterford.

Two births were reported: Addison and Avery, twin daughters born on May 31 to Bryan and Andrea Nichols.

One marriage was reported: Jill Lukshin to Justin Hoff on Aug. 12, 2011.

Three deaths were reported: Levi Weppler on Sept. 13, 2011; Dora Weppler on Dec. 5, 2011; and Gary Weppler on Feb. 15, 2012.

The next reunion will be held on Aug. 11, 2013 at the Lower Salem Community Building.
