There are many reasons to pray for America

September 17, 2012
The Marietta Times

I'll make this short and sweet:

Under this administration, I have steadily lost so much, as have most senior citizens. Interest on my IRA, on which I depended for large bills, is now paying next to nothing.

As for Medicare - I certainly use it - only dummies think that it can go on forever as is.

Electric bills have almost tripled - mine this month, $285. That is a lot out of a Social Security check. Yes, it has been a hot summer, but without "transmission and distribution" charges it would have been $155.62. I do know that much of that increase is due to the assault on coal fired power houses.

Groceries are going up, as is gasoline. One reason, drought - but mostly because of efforts to force us to "go green."

Stimulus efforts were almost laughable. In Matamoras, we got curbs redone for handicappers. I understand that those big stimulus signs, now long destroyed, cost taxpayers over $3,000.

I have hated those squiggly light bulbs from the start, but mostly I hated being forced to buy them. A small thing, but just the beginning. I was almost glad when it was recently announced that they contained mercury - harmful to human beings.

Pray for this poor country.
