As a user of the River Trail, I applaud the efforts of the Rowing and Cycling Club to assist with the maintenance between the Putnam Bridge and the Lockmaster's House. This is also a good time to acknowledge the efforts of the WASCO crew at Marietta Harbor who often end up sweeping the trail under and near the railroad bridge where leaves and other debris accumulate. It is usually quickly taken care of during Harbor-season.
Another special thanks to Ron King, WASCO, who this year has twice smote the purple loosestrife (a horribly invasive species) that was thick in the area where the Becky used to be. Today, lovely great blue lobelia, mist flower, wingstem, and other native riverbank wildflowers were apparent.
